Having recently added a few 'Puddle-Pirate' (sea scout) rovers to our crew, we have since become rather familiar with the delights of sailing, rowing, swimming, paddling and tanning on and around the Hartbeespoort Dam. In fact, some of our rovers are getting pretty good at it, as you can see below, others not so much (also seen below).
Having had a rover camp at the dam in october last year, we were all familiar with what was on offer for the day, and definitely made the most of it. We are hoping to spend some more time on the water soon, and spend some more quality time with our crew members, which of course includes throwing people into the dam, tipping them off paddle boards, falling out of sailing vessels, swimming with the fear of mutating thanks to the water, and many many laughs.
Thanks to the 22nd Pretoria Sea Scouts for letting us invade your base once in a while, we truly appreciate the skills we are learning.
Heres to much more sunscreen and many more dam excursions to come :)
